Title I

Welcome to Our Title 1 Resource Page!                                  Image result for title 1

The main goal of our Title I Program is to help our schools, and in turn, our students, be successful and flourish.  We believe the key to this success lies in building and maintaining strong relationships between schools and families.

Parental involvement is critical to our success, and we provide many opportunities for our parents to be involved.  We encourage you to become involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our Title I Program activities at both the school and district levels.  Research shows that parental involvement helps promote greater achievement by students, more positive student attitudes, and an overall better school environment.  So join us, and get involved!

August 20, 2020 - CLMS Parent and Family Engagement Announcement:

Chestnut Log Middle School is in the process of reviewing and revising the School-level Parent and Family Engagement Plan. This plan outlines how Chestnut Log Middle School will implement programs, activities, and procedures for the involvement of parents and families in Title I programs. The plan will establish the school’s expectations for parent and family engagement and how the school will carry out federal and state parent and family engagement requirements.

Chestnut Log Middle School is also reviewing and revising the grade level School-Parent Compacts. The school-parent compact is an agreement that  outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents  will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards.

Parent input into the revision of both the school-level PFE plan and the school-parent compact is requested and required. The input form linked below will be active until Friday, August 29, 2020.

This is a friendly announcement to please let your team know that I will be hosting a series of short, study buddy "lunch and learn" webinars next week in order to highlight their effectiveness within title 1 parent involvement programs.  These 30 minute-long webinars will run from Tues - Thursday (August 25-27) and the zoom meeting invites for each one are listed below.

A parent and her child working on a study buddy educational tutor during a parent workshop.  Study buddy tutors are small Nintendo-like devices that utilize educational software cartridges to supplement teacher-led instruction in all content areas for students working in grades 1-10.  Study Buddies are simple and easy to use and offer "at-risk" students an effective and engaging platform to deliver additional instruction; especially when internet access at home is unavailable.
